Bibles for 2nd Graders:  If your 2nd grader missed the Bible presentation held in December, we’d like to present him/her with their very own Adventure Bible- please contact Jodell on Sunday morning, or @ jkrause@fcchudson.com

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  We have missed seeing all of our little ones at FFC! It will be good to get together again tonight (Jan.6) as Awana resumes and Sunday (JAN.10) as Lifeshaping restarts. Our Lifeshapers will be focusing on ‘prayer’ and practicing it in many different ways- for many different people - all to ONE AWESOME GOD!!  If you are new to FCC, or would like your child to try a kindergarten - grade 5 Lifeshaping class, please come to the Community Room area on Sunday am and let us welcome you!

Our Lifeshapers will have only 2 regular Sunday am classes this month, on Sunday, Dec. 6th and Dec. 13th. Plan to join us on Sunday, Dec. 20th for our Celebration Meal!!  At both the 8:45 & 10:30 time-slots, a delicious breakfast will be served to Lifeshaping families in the Community Room, followed by carol singing, our 2nd grader Bible presentation (please sign up if you have a 2nd grader!) and various other Christmas-related family activities.  Our Lifeshaping Bible-buddy verse for December is from Matthew 1:21 “She will give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because he will save His people from their sins.”  Talk with your children about why Jesus came…..why Jesus was named ‘Jesus’…..how Jesus came……who Jesus came for……pray together and read from Matthew 1:18 - Chapter 2 and Luke 1 & 2.  Children LOVE to hear these verses of God’s love sent to us in His only son, a baby boy,  Jesus!  

We are thankful for the lovingly packed 200+ OCC boxes that were collected just before Thanksgiving!  Language-appropriate Bible tracts are included in each box before they are shipped around the world……pray that God will use this opportunity to not only bring cheer to His precious children, but to prepare in them a readiness to know and understand the love of  His son, Jesus.  Ask God to show you other simple ways to share His love with those around you! 

You & your child are invited to participate in a very special misson project, Operation Christmas Child! Check out the sample shoeboxes at either the info booth or the Lifeshaping table on Sunday mornings, where you can pick up a pamphlet that will explain exactly how to proceed. My own kids really ‘felt’ what they were doing as we would shop and pick out toys (that they would want to keep) for another child!  We will be collecting boxes on Nov. 15 & 22 at FCC.

This can be hard to talk about and challenging for children to understand!!  Sin can be defined as “any failure to conform to the moral law of God in act, attitude, or nature.”   However, without the understanding that all are sinners, (Romans 3:23) there would be no need for a Savior, for Jesus!  Our lifeshapers are digging into 1 John 1:8-9 to help us remember our ‘choices’  concerning sin-   1) “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”   2) “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”   Now……here’s the challenge(!)……Romans 2:13 says “For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.”   It’s our humble privilege to teach and practice with our children our desperate need for Jesus, along with the joy of His faithfulness!! 

It’s already time to ‘think’ about summer vbs 2010 :)  Are you interested in helping to put together an awesome week of outreach to our children and community?  I’d LOVE to hear from you!!  We have chosen the curriculum…….the kids are going to LOVE it……..please pray about how God might use you in this ministry area!  

Hey! We are having a blast at Lifeshaping! Our worship time together is amazing- even with the 10:30 space-crunch(!)- we are encountering our GOD, who delights in our praise! We’re making new friends, learning new Bible verses, and discovering new ways that we can love and serve Jesus. If your K -5th grade children would like to join us, please sign up and come!!  

Hey-  there is going to be a super-great opportunity in the near future to reach out to children through OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD!  It’s simple…..together with your child…..purchase a small shoebox sized plastic container and fill it with small, safe gifts for a child in another country. (You will even have a chance to write a personal note to that child!)  We will be providing pamphlets with instructions in October and then a collection spot in mid-November. 

We welcomed many delightful children on Sunday morning!!!! Thanks be to God for providing all of our needs, and teaching us how to serve others for His Name. If you would like to register your kindergarten through fifth grader, we’ll be in that area on Sunday morning, please come!!  Keep praying for our teachers and students as they journey together:)
