Danielle has received word that she is to “class up” (start her classes/specific training) February 1st. This Monday! After waiting for 3 months for this moment she’s thinking she’d like to wait a little longer. One of the young men refers to her as the “mom” of her compound. Go figure!
Please pray for her as she begins her 18 week training. From what she has heard it is a difficult program. Pray for focus, that she “gets it”, and recall for test taking.
Please hold on sending Rob anything else.. it might not make it before he graduates on the 31st of December. I will update the next address as soon as I get it.
It’s hard to believe it’s been over a month and a half ago that Danielle graduated from boot camp and we were spending time with her in the Chicago area. I have to admit I’ve gotten lazy with snail mail to her, but now that she has her cell phone we hear from her almost daily. I’m also finding she’s not needing the you rah rah encouragement for her current vacuuming/escorting duties as she did during the gruel of basic! She does like to hear from home, so thank you for your letters. She is waiting until they get enough people to fill classes before she can continue with her training. Continue to pray for her as she tries to be a Christian influence and share Christ with those around her. Her current address is:
I just received Robs address. He is the son of Rich & Sharon Marr. For anyone who would like to write him (letters/cards only), please keep it upbeat and positive;
Danielle is in the last week of training at Great Lakes. Yeah! With the gas chamber behind her, the next big challenge will be her final test, Battlestations 21. This is a battleship simulator that gets hit by a “bomb” and the recruits must work as a team to carry out various senarios. (Check it out in Popular Mechanics, November 2008) Please pray for calm, confidence, endurance and division unity for this 12-hour, overnight test! Thanks!
Hi everyone! Thank you for checking in on Danielle. It has been 4 weeks (Sept. 2) since she left for the Navy and is counting the days until graduation! The first week and a half were spent waiting for the division to fill up and it’s been ramping up ever since. She says she is doing well and we had the luxury of an extended phone call yesterday as a reward to their division. She is missing FCC and the Well, but has enjoyed the two times of chapel they have been allowed thus far. As I write this she is mid-way through week 3 of the 7 week training (boot camp). She says in her last letter, “I’ve also felt the ocean of prayers and support from everyone.” So thank you for praying and writing! She is requesting prayer specifically for next week; from the title it’s been given, it sounds as if things are really going to heat up She is loving the mail that is coming her way, so if you’d like to write her (no care packages, please), her address is: SR REEDY, DANIELLE, M., SHIP 10 DIV 375, RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND, 3425 SAILOR DRIVE, GREAT LAKES, IL 60088-3525.
